What began as a storefront that primarily sold local cider 13 years ago has transformed into Buffalo's first and only urban winery and cidery.
After adding select wines to his store invetory, Carl decided in 2001 to start curating his own. Using his past experiences of working at different wineries and with the help and support of his wife, Suzi, he began developing his own line of small batch wines.
During the first expansion, the shop was moved to the Niagara Frontier Food Terminal where all of the wines and ciders could be produced in the cellar beneath what has become the tasting room.
More than 95% of the produce used come from NY state farms. To further advocate for buying local and from small businesses, locally made cheeses, pickled fruits and vegetables, meat rubs and seasonings can also be found in our shop.
During the summer months the mobile and bright red Wine Wanderer can be found at local farmers markets.
